Our mission at Hillsboro Barbell is to be the go to place on the westside of Portland for powerlifters, strength athletes, or the everyday recreational lifter while providing a friendly community feel.
We have a wide selection of barbells, specialty bars, weight plates, and even competition spec equipment. We also offer strength/powerlifting coaching from a beginner who has never touched a barbell, to those that would like to compete or are already competing. We do nutrition coaching as well.
All age groups welcomed as well as it is never too late to get started. Our main style of training is with the barbell and free weights. Although it may seem intimidating to some, we are more than happy to show you how to properly use the equipment and in our opinion, we find that training with the barbell is the most effective way to build muscle and strength compared to other forms of exercise.
